Edema during Pregnancy
« on: March 25, 2006, 04:49:26 PM »

Edema, or swelling, of the hands and feet may occur. This is normal. Ankles, feet and fingers often swell in pregnancy because the body holds more water than usual.

Try to avoid standing for long periods of time.

Wear comfortable shoes.

Do foot exercises

Put your feet up as much as you can.

Soak your feet in warm water.

Wow, that sounds scary...  Shocked I'll keep that in mind if I ever get pregnant.

Yeah, that's true for sure. After all, I'm also looking forward to having children one day.
