Just Hang In There! Try Some Of These Morning Sickness Remedies To Make Your Life More Bearable

by: Marie O'Hara

Being pregnant can be such a joyous time in a woman's life - unless they are among the ones who spend their first trimester fighting the urge to throw up, and basically feeling that their bodies are turning against them. When you feel this way, it can be difficult to believe that there are any morning sickness remedies in the world that can help you to feel better. In fact, it can be hard to believe that you ever actually looked forward to getting pregnant in the first place!

Well, unfortunately morning sickness is a fact of pregnancy for many women. Over 50% of women who get pregnant will suffer from this ailment to some degree. Some will suffer only minor nausea, while others will have such a severe case that they require treatment in order to keep the woman and baby safe.

There are some tips you can try to help make your symptoms seem less debilitating. If you are enduring the discomfort and nausea, try some of these to help get you through those first few weeks.

• Eat small meals often throughout the day. Try not to let your stomach ever be empty because that will trigger feelings of stomach upset. If you can, snack on high protein foods which can be more beneficial for easing symptoms.

• At all costs, avoid fatty foods because they take much longer to digest. Also avoid fried, spicy and acidic foods which are obviously going to irritate your stomach.

• Stay away from any food that triggers nausea - and you will quickly learn what your personal triggers are! Don't cook any of these foods in your house, and if possible try cooking outside on a barbeque so that the smells of food cooking can't bother you. Find bland foods that don't have a strong smell.

• Sometimes eating food at a cooler temperature can help as well because there won't be as strong of a smell.

• When you wake up, nibble on a couple of crackers before getting out of bed. Stay in bed awhile after eating them to allow them time to get into your stomach. Make sure you keep a stash next to your bed so that you don't have to get up to get them. This will help to settle your stomach a bit before you get up.

There are many other morning sickness remedies you can try, and in the end you will need to find your own methods of dealing with your worse symptoms. Just remember that this isn't something you need to suffer through just because you are pregnant. If it is really troubling you, find something to help you. There is no need to suffer nowadays because there are available methods of treating it.
