Apple Seeds

"Excuse me, but what are you chewing there?"
"Apple seeds."
"And what's that for?"
"It increases the intelligence."
"Really? Can you give me four, too?"
"Sure. Four are eight dollars."

The other passenger paid and got the seeds.
After chewing for a while, he said:
"Wait, for eight dollars I could have bought a lot of apples!"
"See, they start working already!"
